### Buttons

**Reset:** Sets the values of the parameters to those shown
in the boxes and reinitializes the plot (e.g. resets the initial
value to *x0*).
**Clear:** Clears the plot, but does not reset the
parameter values and maintains the current value of *x* .
**Start:** Starts repeated time-stepping and plotting.
**Clear** can be used while the evolution is proceeding if the
display becomes scrambled.
**Stop:** Stops the evolution and allows the parameters to
be changed.

### Text Boxes

Note that the parameter values are not updated until either
**Enter** is hit on the keyboard or the **Reset** button is
pushed. An entered value that is out of the allowed range is not
accepted.

**a,b,c:** Parameters of the Lorenz Equations
**dt:** Time step for integrating equations
**x-axis, y-axis:** Set the variables plotted on *x*
and *y* axes: *0->t; 1->X(t); 2->Y(t);
3->Z(t)*.
**tran:** Sets the number of dt time steps over which
transients are eliminated and a phantom plot is drawn.
**X0, Y0, Z0:** Initial values of the variables.
**dX0, dY0, dZ0:** Changes in initial values for the second
evolution to illustrate the sensitive dependence on initial
conditions. (If **tr an** is nonzero, the perturbation is
applied at the *end* of the transient.)

### Scrollbar

**Speed:** sets the iteration and animation speed, roughly
in updates per second.
